Game Review!
It was a really epic atmosphere when the players were on their way to the ice. 1st period had a pretty awesome atmosphere with pleanty of hits but not to many dangerious chances. Ovie starts the winter classic with a big hit on Michalek. The first time Staal was on the ice was great then he got a hit on Capitals Hendricks. Awesome.
Beagle got a chance from a bouncing puck. He shoots. FLEURY WITH A SAVE!. Then later on the Penguins Powerplay, Backström gets a great shot on goal but a save by Fleury again! Later on the PP, Penguins get it in to the zone. Kunitz passes the puck to Malkin, let's the puck go to Crosby, Crosby with a shot but a save by Varlamov.
12min in to the Match. Rupp with a great hit on Erskine. Rupp and Erskine japp at each other and we get a fight, A really great fight!. Later on Talbot shoots, nothing happends. Letestu gets the puck turns around a shots a wrister that hits the crossbar. Still tied at zero.
With only 7 sec left of the game the Penguins were attacking, Kennedy passed the puck to Letestu that get another great chance but a save by Varlamov.
One thing that made me laugh like hell in the first period was Ovechkin trying to shoot and fell down like a goof.
End of 1st period
2nd period was better then the first one. Ovechkin got a breakaway. But Fleury made a great padsave and the game was still zero each. Reminded me alot of the Game 7 Breakaway
Ovechkin got another chans but Fleury saved it again, Letang got it shot it away, Malkin got it on a Breakaway chans. One on one against Varlamov. SCORES!!!. Breakaway and a shot through the five hole! 1-0 Penguins!. A really nice celebration by Malkin afterwards. This goal made me jump up, hands in the air saying YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! MALKIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Greatest Highlight in the Match. It was going so good at this point. But it was going to go bad later on...
Talbot got a penalty for holding Ovechkin, Capitals on the PP. Perreault got a great shot on Fleury. Backström to Green, Green tries to shoot but falls, gets the puck back to Backström, Backström is trying to get it in to the net but then Knuble gets the puck and scores lying down. 1-1 Capitals.
Fleury was out of his crease to get the puck, Johansson got the puck passed it to Chimera that went around the crease geting a shot but it was blocked by Orpik. Fleury owes Orpik a New Years gift.
SHITTY CAMERA ANGLE AGAIN!. In the middle of the shitty camera angle. Chimera shot the puck around the goal, Fleury was outside of the crease to get it but missed it, Johansson got it passed it to an open Fehr and Fehr scores. 2-1 Capitals. Bad move by Fleury
Late in the Second Period, Penguins SCORE!!. But the refs waving it off. No goal...
At the end of the period Crosby got hit by Steckel. No Penalty was called. Steckel gets shot on Fleury but a save. Crosby was hurting and was very slow to get to the bench. After the replays, you could see that it was Incidental Contact.
End of 2nd Period
Time for the Penguins to go out and tie it up! .... was my thought going in to the third.
3rd Period
5min in to the period, Orpik shoots it to the net, Cooke deflects it down save by Varlamov. Malkin gets a great chance but another great save by Varlamov, Letang shoots and Varlamov keeps it. Three good saves!
Penguins are passing to much on the PP. It's really bad ice out there, so shoot the puck to the net instead of passing all the fucking time!
12min in to the 3rd Period, Erskine gets the puck, passes it upp to Fehr, Fehr gives the puck to Chimera then back to Fehr again on the breakaway and scores. 3-1 Capitals. Pens are really up shit creek without a paddle.
Penguins put Fleury on the bench for an extra attacker, but it didn't help. Ovechkin was close to making it 4-1 two times but one was waved off because he was holding Fleury, And the other one was blocked by Paul Martin.
Alot of "fighting" was going on in the Capitals Zone last 8 sec of the game. You know that these two do not like each other.

The Match was pretty cool, old faces like Mario Lemieux, Paul Coffey, Ron Francis, Larry Murphy, Gary Roberts, Bill Guerin, Bob Erry, Phil Bourque, Bryan Trottier and more. Lemieux got 2p and the match ended 5-5. Tie Game!
